ビルゲイツの皮肉にＧＭ社が大逆襲

なかなか海外のコメディやジョークは日本人にとってはおもしろくなかったりするものです。文化や習慣が違うため、習慣外の事をネタにしたジョークなんかは何を言っているのかさえわからないものです。今回取り上げたマイクロソフトとＧＭ（ジェネラルモータース）の皮肉対決はテーマがコンピューターと車なので、私達にも容易に理解ができ、面白いと思います。

近頃開催されたコンピューター博覧会でビル・ゲイツはコンピュータ産業を自動車産業と比較し、こう言ったそうです。
「ＧＭ社がコンピュータ産業が持っている位の技術があれば、私達は、１ガロン（約３．８Ｌ）で１,０００マイル（１，６００ｋｍ）走れる車を２５ドルで買う事ができるだろう。」
このビルゲイツのコメントに対し、ＧＭ社は記者会見で次のように答えました。
わが社がマイクロソフトのような技術を持っていたら、私達の車は以下のような特徴を持っていたでしょう。

At a computer expo(COMDEX),Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and atated,"If GM had kept up with the technology like the computer industry has,we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."
In responce to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating.
"If GM had developed technology like Microsoft,we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics:
